Trauma-Focused Psychological Therapy and Clinical Supervision

Petrova Psychology offers evidence-based psychological therapy for adults, focused EMDR intensives for suitable clients, and clinical supervision for psychologists and other mental health professionals.

The approach is depth-oriented, collaborative and tailored to each person’s needs. Therapy may address current difficulties, longstanding patterns or the continuing effects of earlier adverse or traumatic experiences.

Individual Therapy

Psychological care for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship difficulties, trauma, and concerns for which neurodivergence may be relevant.

Therapy is trauma-informed, with particular expertise in complex and attachment trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder and dissociation.

The work may focus on reducing emotional distress, understanding recurring patterns, strengthening emotional regulation, or developing more helpful ways of relating to yourself and others.

EMDR Intensives

EMDR intensives provide carefully structured treatment blocks for clients who want to undertake focused therapeutic work over a shorter period.

They may be suitable when there is a clearly identified traumatic experience, distressing memory or treatment goal that would benefit from more time than a standard appointment allows. Suitability is considered carefully before an intensive is recommended.

Clinical Supervision

Individual clinical supervision and case consultation are available for psychologists and other mental health professionals.

Supervision may include reflection on complex clinical work, trauma-informed case formulation, EMDR practice, managing dissociation during trauma processing, attachment dynamics and the therapeutic relationship. The emphasis is on thoughtful discussion, clinical depth and practical application.
